About Muddy River Forest

Muddy River Forest is 26 acres of forestland on the Muddy River, located across Lake House Road from the Town of Naples’ Muddy River Bog Preserve in Naples. The property was donated to LELT by the Hennick Family in January 2025.

The land includes 1,300 feet of frontage on the Muddy River, the third largest tributary to Sebago Lake. The property is home to wildlife habitat, vernal pools, wetlands, and exceptional wild brook trout habitat. Located just north of LELT’s Sebago Cove Forest, the land is part of a large network of undeveloped forest in the vicinity of the Muddy River, the Northwest River, and Sebago Lake.

Access

The property is accessible on foot, with limited, seasonal parking available off Lake House Road. Please observe all posted use guidelines and respect neighbors, wildlife, and other visitors.
