The Lake Region Wood Bank provides free firewood to those in need throughout the Lake Region of Maine. LRWB is a community-driven effort led by Loon Echo Land Trust, Bridgton First Congregational Church, The Opportunity Alliance, Bridgton Community Center, volunteers and businesses. Together, we can ensure our neighbors stay warm and safe this winter.
Service Area: We are currently only able to serve residents of Bridgton, Casco, Denmark, Harrison, Naples, Raymond and Sebago. If you live outside the greater Sebago Lake Region, you can find a wood bank near you at woodbanks.org.
Wood Availability: Seasoned firewood supplies are limited and may change throughout the season. While we cannot guarantee the quantity of wood available at any given time, we encourage you to reach out if you need assistance. Any requests we cannot accommodate immediately will be placed on a waitlist.
Schedule: Pickups and deliveries will occur on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 9am - 12pm. All pickups will be scheduled directly with recipients via the request process below.
Intended Use: Firewood from the Lake Region Wood Bank is intended for emergency use only.

2024 - 20 cords distributed
The Lake Region Wood Bank (founded as the Lake Region Woodshed) was founded by LELT as a direct-delivery service to anyone in need. Firewood was purchased at a discount from Khiel Logging and Firewood and delivered directly to recipients. Funds to pay for the wood came from a timber harvest on a LELT-owned property. In addition to firewood delivered directly by Khiel Logging, generous community members donated extra seasoned, split firewood from their own properties.
2025
This year, with support from Bridgton First Congregational Church, The Opportunity Alliance, Bridgton Community Center, Maine Community Foundation and volunteer site coordinator William Shuttleworth, the Wood Bank has grown into a true community-powered network. Community members are donating extra firewood and trees, volunteers are splitting and stacking wood, businesses are donating materials, tools and firewood, and service providers are connecting families to essential resources. Together, we're creating a warmer, more connected Lake Region community. The site is managed by volunteer Site Coordinator William Shuttleworth.
