Turn off your lights
Peak migration is a dangerous time for birds that can become disoriented by lights and collide with windows. All types of buildings, from skyscrapers to low-rises to residences, can cause collisions. To help keep birds safe, BirdCast recommends turning out nonessential lighting from 11:00 pm to 6:00 am, or drawing curtains to keep light inside.
